It has been one year since we launched the Corporate Venture Connection, an NVCA publication dedicated to corporate venture. We built a new hub at nvcaconnection.com. We have profiled some of the leading corporate VC organizations – Qualcomm, Intel, IBM, Coca Cola and the list goes on. We have kept readers informed about the latest corporate venturing data. We have published some great articles on corporate innovation in all of its forms.
And we are just getting started! As we celebrate the one year anniversary of this publication, we are already planning to bring more engaging content to you in the coming year. Just look at the great articles for this issue – a follow-up from Evangelos Simoudis, a piece on the first years of the Transamerica Ventures program by Egbert Bierman, Jody Thelander’s hot-off-the-presses CVC compensation data, updates on the latest investment trends from Toby Lewis, Editor of Global Corporate Venturing and news about the GCV Academy, and insights from NVCA President and CEO Bobby Franklin.
We also strive to create new opportunities for the connection and networking that drives this industry. Please join us at the NVCA Annual Corporate Venture Summit on October 22 in Sunnyvale, California. Every year, NVCA brings together the leaders of corporate venture and venture capital to chart new courses for greater success as a CVC in working with business units, CEOs, financial VCs, venture debt lenders and more. You can register at nvca.org.
This fall, NVCA is also hosting two outreach dinners for corporate venture investors and financial venture capital investors interested in learning more about the association in New York on September 24 and Washington, D.C. on October 8. To attend, please reach Janice Mawson, NVCA Vice President of Outreach and Development, for more information.
The past year has been a rewarding experience for all of us on the Communications Committee. We will endeavor to continue to bring you interesting content. We also will continue to solicit your feedback and suggestions. Please share your ideas on what you’d like to see and we’ll do our best to bring it to you. We look forward to continuing the dialog.
