Welcome to the latest issue of the NVCA Connection on Corporate Venture & The Rise of Automated Advertising, Social Media And Targeting. First of all, we hope that everyone had a great summer.
For this issue, we chose the theme of targeted advertising and the role that the corporate venturing community has played in the space. We ended up with three really interesting pieces on that topic – stories on RetailNext by Bryan Wargo, Affinity Solutions by Rich Bravman and an interesting piece on what TV can teach us about social media from NVCA’s Jessica Straus.
We also have two terrific articles from past contributors as Evangelos Simodes has provided Part 2 to his series on the corporate innovation model. William Kilmer has also provided a companion piece to his article with another interesting message to the corporate venture capital community. We also have a first-time contribution from Justin Gage, a NYU student who interned at a VC firm this summer, and shared some of his observations and learnings.
Finally, as usual, we have some great data to share with you about what’s happening in the targeted advertising space, as well as in the VC/CVC world in general. All in all, it is a packed and thought-provoking issue.
