Welcome to the final issue of the NVCA Connection for 2016! The theme for this issue of The Connection is cybersecurity and we have a host of very interesting articles covering many aspects of the cybersecurity ecosystem. As we all know, security concerns continue to grow as we hear about hacking attacks and other misdeeds on an almost daily basis. It is good to know that there are large corporations, as well as a vibrant start-up community that are taking this important issue head-on. We have articles from In-Q-Tel, Motorola Solutions, Mach37, DataTribe, Trident Capital Cybersecurity and more. We also have some great data on the cybersecurity space from Pitchbook, NVCA’s new data partner.
In addition to the great cybersecurity articles, we also have the first part of a new series from Andrew Roman, author of “Mastering Corporate Venture Capital.” I am sure you will find this series both timely and relevant.
We also have some great events coming up in the next few months for the corporate venture capital ecosystem in Sonoma, CA and Chicago, IL. You can find details as you read on.
Finally, it has been an exciting year in which we have seen the readership of The Connection grow every issue. All of us that work on putting this newsletter together are very thankful for that support from the CVC community. Our next issue, due out in March, will cover the topic of autonomous machines and vehicles.
